Over the past few months, practically every time I take Moose to the dog park, someone asks if he is an Irish Wolfhound. He dies look a lot like one, but yesterday we met Oliver, an 18 month old Irish Wolfhound and he dwarfed our little Moose. He was HUGE and totally reminded me of Lesch

Still working on the retractable roof for our home, so until then:

We are home safely from our Oahu trip and happy to be greeted by Seattle sunshine and a Moose. We sure did miss him! Here he is at Grand View park enjoying some time with Dad.

We are loving this campground! Feels like the perfect combo between camping and renting a beach home.

Turns out the new movie Soul Surfer is being filmed at our beach! We were sharing waves with castmembers Helen Hunt, Dennis Quaid, Anna Sophia Robb and others. Bethany Hamilton was there also (this movie is the biography of the girl who lost her arm to a shark while surfing on Kauai).

No way! On our visit to Teds amazing doughnut shop we bump into the star from LOST. He was super nice and we were pretty star struck. I guess they are filming the final season thru April. He wouldn’t give away the ending.

We are at the finest campground on Oahu and wrapping up a very long day bs’ing around the campfire. It’s time for s’mores! (and perhaps a longer roasting stick J Dub!)

We are definitely ready for a break from the rain! Next stop Honolulu and a yurt on the north shore.

Well it’s official.  We’ve gone blue.

Due to the insanely hot temps that our apartment is capable of reaching, we have taken extreme measure #2 of tarping the living room windows from the outside.

As you can see, we spent extra time in sizing the tarp to fit the windows so it wouldn’t look cheap.  It’s actually a nice blue that’s easy on the eyes.  We are considering auctioning it off as prime advertising space!

It was so damn hot in here yesterday that we had to pin up a sheet to block off the living room from the rest of the house so our little air conditioner “R2D2″ wouldn’t be overwhelmed.  That was extreme measure #1.  Even so, the living room got up to 87F and I don’t think thermometers are capable of measuring how hot the rest of our place was beyond the hanging sheet.  Moose was not pleased to say the least. Hence the blue tarp.

An added tarp benefit: our living room is now tinted with a wonderful shade of blue! This adds a calm & cooling feel.  R2D2 is currently humming at 82F and Moose and I are waiting for the Smurfs to show up.
